Parcy allows you to create and manage breakout rooms within your event. On the event dashboard page, click your event and choose “Breakout Rooms" on the left-hand side of your page.
Once on the page, you will click the green button that says “Add Breakout Room”.
Type the “Room Name”, choose your “Breakout Room Start and End Date/Time”, and decide if you want your attendees to knock before entering the room. Tip: We recommend requiring attendees to knock so they will only have access to the breakout room when you want them to! Click "Add Breakout Room" when completed.
Your breakout room is now complete! It is time to assign your attendees to the breakout room. Click “Manage Attendees” on your breakout room tab.
A pop-up appears asking you to choose your attendee list, who will have access to this room, and to assign their roles. Click the drop-down menu to choose your list.
After you choose your list, begin to click the box next to the attendee’s name to give them a check or no check to allow them to access the room. Tip: If you want to search for a participant, click in the 'Search' box and type their name to pull up their name immediately. Click “Save Participants” when done.
After you hit “Save”, you have the option to “Make Host” to the attendees you decide. Tip: Always include yourself in your attendee lists, so you can make yourself Host. Click “Save Participants” when complete and exit out of this form.
Now, it is time to edit your actual breakout room. Begin by clicking on "Settings" within your breakout room tab.
Once you are inside the settings, you then decide how you want your breakout room to be set. Click the button if you want your participants to join the meeting with their camera turned off. Click the button if you want your participants to join the meeting with the microphone turned off. Click the button if you want participants to share their screens. Click the button if you want to show the chat button. Click the button if you want to show the list of participants. Click the button to have hosts split participants into small groups. Click the button if you want to show the “Back to Main Page” button.
“Room Background” is where you can decide what colors or background images you want to upload. Change the color or image to what you desire. Change the “back to live” button color and text to what you desire. “Back to Live” is the page’s button that sends your attendees back to the live-streaming page. Click “Save Settings” when complete.
You have now finished your first breakout room! Go give it a quick test to see what you have created. 🤓
